Marilou Regan to Speak to Press Club

‘Rolling Stones’ speaker
to open up Press Club year
The Press Club Serving The Philadelphia Suburbs will present speaker Marilou Regan, a former editor of an international Rolling Stones fanzine and fan club, 12 noon Wed. (Sept. 18) at the Springhaven Club, 600 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford. Doors open at 11:30 am.
Marilou
Regan is a rock writer with extensive experience writing about the
Rolling Stones as a fan historian/archivist. Her website, book and
fanzine are about the fans’ experiences with the band at some of the
most important events in the history of rock ‘n roll, including their
current 50th Anniversary tour.
Her
fan documents will be the ultimate reference material for
anthropologists and historians of the future when they research the
musical and cultural phenomenon of the Rolling Stones. Mair has rocked
out at over 160 Stones concerts around the world since 1972 and joined
the band at press conferences, movie premieres, fashion shows, parties
and VIP events.
Her
eclectic career includes all mediums of communication: print
journalism, television, public relations, radio and the internet. She is
an award-winning journalist and TV producer. Marilou’s first book on
the Stones won three design awards. “Love You Live, Rolling Stones.
Fanfare from the Common Fan” has 80 stories from 20 countries from the
fans’ point of view.
She was the co-executive producer of KidSports,
a half-hour children’s TV show that garnered a Telly and she also has
an award from the National Society of Fund Raising Executives in
recognition for her outstanding philanthropic support for the disabled
and mentally ill.
Marilou has recently published the e-book: Satisfaction: The Greatest Rolling Stones Albums with the UK’s Endeavour Press. She was born and raised in Philadelphia, and then the suburbs, where she now lives.

Announcing First Fall Meeting
The PRESS CLUB is thrilled to announce Marylou Regan as our guest speaker to kick off our fall schedule…
Marilou Regan is an
award-winning professional journalist and has written extensively about the
Rolling Stones. Many of her articles were exclusive concert reviews, band
history, feature articles, interviews and profiles. She wrote, edited and compiled
the 80 stories in "Love You Live, Rolling Stones: Fanfare from the Common
Fan", a tribute book to the Stones from the fans’ perspective.
As the former US editor of an international Rolling Stones
fanzine and fan club, Marilou covered the Bridges to Babylon and No Security
tours in 10 countries and over 40 cities. Including 8 shows on the current
Licks World Tour, Marilou had the privilege of attending over 93 Rolling Stones
concerts since 1972, 43 of them from 1997 to1999. Marilou has been an avid fan
of the Stones and their music since 1964 and two of her three children are
named after band members Keith and Brian. Daughter Elizabeth coincidentally has
the same name as one of Mick Jagger’s daughters. Marilou collects Stones
memorabilia and has an expansive poster collection. She is also an
award-winning television producer with an Addy and Telly award, and is noted
for her work in all aspects of the media. Marilou earned much of her
considerable experience in TV broadcast journalism as the executive producer of
a half-hour television entertainment magazine, Happenings, and the
award-winning KidSports, a half-hour children’s TV show seen nationally in 55
million households. She has also
produced a variety of television projects including: industrial documentaries;
infomercials; commercials, entertainment programming and live broadcasts.
Marilou was a reporter for Philadelphia Inquirer for 12 years
and was also a correspondent for Woman's World Magazine. She has published more
than 2,000 articles and penned over 500 scripts for regional and national
clients these past 20 years. She has also produced newsletters, brochures and
promotional materials.
A Yoga Instructor, Marilou teaches at a local hospital’s
health center. Marilou developed yoga courses for the mentally ill and Down’s
Syndrome adults. She taught yoga to mentally and physically handicapped
patients at an international institution for the handicapped. She published the results of her work with these special-needs people in articles in
Yoga Journal Magazine in the 1980’s.
She is currently on the Board of Directors for Arnold
Schwarzenegger’s Inner City Games Philadelphia and is a member of the National
Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Regan resides in the suburbs of
Philadelphia, PA.
